Troubleshooting startup issues on macOS

Recent macOS updates require explicit permission for apps to modify system settings, such as adding a launch agent. If you’re encountering issues with an app not launching automatically, follow the steps below.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Ensure App Is Up to Date
   Open the app and go to the About tab. This will trigger a forced update to the latest version.

2. Reconfigure Startup Settings
   After updating the app:

   • Untick, then tick the “Automatically launch app at startup” option again.
   • A system prompt will appear asking for permission.

3. Grant Startup Permission
   When prompted:

   • Click Allow to permit the app to be added to the startup list.
   • If you click Disallow or ignore the prompt, the app will not be able to start automatically.
