AirPlay is used to stream to your Mac's display. This is only available on Monterey or Big Sur with App Store apps.

Why you should turn off AirPlay receiver

CIS recommendation is that any service that makes your computer open for connections should be disabled when not in use. This is also the recommendation of other people in the security field. Hence, the check is failing if your AirPlay receiver is on, so you remember to turn it off when not in use.

How to disable AirPlay receiver

• Open System Preferences, click General and AirDrop & Handoff.
• Click AirPlay receiver toggle.

How to disable on Monterey and older

• Open System Preferences, click Sharing.
• Click the lock icon in the bottom-left, then enter the account password.
• In the list on the left, uncheck AirPlay Receiver.
